Advice about birthday gift for new boyfriend

Ok, so I have been going out with my current bf for 2 months, and it is his 22nd birthday soon, and I have no idea what to get him. The problem is, that I am going away to australia for three months at summer and most of my money is going to that, so i don't even have a huge budget to spend. So do any of you have any ideas for a gift that I could get him? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Advice about birthday gift for new boyfriend

We aren't the ones who are in the relationship - it's you and him. I'm sure he'd much prefer a present from your own mind (whatever it may be) rather than from some strangers on a forum. I know I'd hate it if my boyfriend asked some people on a forum what to get me for my birthday - it's like he doesn't know me well enough or he can't think for himself so he gets present ideas from someone else.

You know him better than us so you know what he likes more than us. We can mention lots of presents but they might not be suitable for him.

Yup, I'm sure as long as you've thought about it then he'll love it whatever it is. You know him better than us.

Re: Advice about birthday gift for new boyfriend

hehe - I remember one of the presents my boyfriend gave me over a year back. It was a conker from one of the trees that was outside his university halls on the day that he was moving into the halls. It didn't cost a thing and it meant so much because of the feelings that came with it.

Just offer to take him out for a meal on you. Go somewhere a bit upmarket, make it more special than just a takeaway in or something, doesn't have to cost loads.

I'm sure you could make him something, do something for him or get something cheap that you know he'll love. I know it may be tough since you have only been dating him for 2 months, but I'm sure you can think of something.

Re: Advice about birthday gift for new boyfriend

Thanks for the help, so what I got him is: his favourite aftershave (he loves aftershave so I know he'll like it, plus it smells very good ), I have made him a cd with all his favourite songs on it and I got him a nice photo frame to put a picture of his family in (cos he moved to scotland from poland last year and he really misses them)! I have also figured out some phrases in Polish, wishing him a happy birthday etc, and written his card in Polish, because we always talk in english, so I thought it would be nice if I made the effort and wrote it in polish. (Side note: Polish is soooo hard to learn, and even harder to pronounce!)

Thanks for the advice though

Hehe - he should love those presents.

I remember for my boyfriends birthday I booked a limo for us to take us from his house to a hotel. We went to see his favourite film which was out at the time and then went back to the hotel and got a taxi back later on the following day.

Re: Advice about birthday gift for new boyfriend

Something small like a CD would be perfect. This way, you buy him something, and then it shows him you care. ^_^ Everyone loves music.
