Most people don't like either of those brands because they can't afford it. Now I'm not saying it in a way meant to offend, I'm just stating the fact. Why would non-wealthy people spend $70 of a shirt when they can get it for like 10 in some other store. Maybe they're just jealous that they can't afford it, so they bash the companies. It's in our natural instinct to hate on whatever we can't have.

On the other hand there's people that CAN afford it and like it.

Thats dumb. Im sure msot people can buy a 70 dollar shirt. Anyways, I can sure as hell afford that company and while most kids here wear american eagle or abercrombie some of us wear lacoste. Lots of kids dont even know what lacoste is. Anyways, im all good with burberry and armani.

And some people like me can't see the point in spending huge amounts of money on clothes when the cheap stuff will do just as nice a job

Okay let me put it to you and anyone else who thinks hate is based on not being able to afford something, another way.

Brand new PS2 games in the chart cost in the region of £35-£40. I know how we all love to purchase the new Grand Theft Auto or Pro Evolution Soccer game on the day they're released, much like i do. It's completely irrelevant but i happen to dislike "Tom Clancy" games, which i've seen at their most expensive in the region of £30.

Kind of blows your little theories out of the water doesn't it?
