| Into the confines of social camouflage
This is just something I was thinking hard on while I was in my English class today. I mean, I think about it a lot, but I thought of good words to express my opinion. Please reply with comments or opinions...I love to discuss this type of thing. Into the confines of social camouflage By Lauren ****** Why is it that completely ignorant people laugh at others? Perhaps to make themselves feel better? Or maybe because they are too stupid to understand true humor? It could be because they are bored with their own lives and have to pick at the more interesting ones. I’m so glad I’ll never fit in with that pack of mindless imbeciles. I’d rather find ways of my own fun and humor than leech to others and suck the self-esteem from the less weak-minded. It’s just funny that when they say they can relate to certain songs that claim they are different, they only say it but to be the same. Just another fad. What ever is “cool” at the time. Why be a bimbo? Why shun what all is good and natural to be camouflaged into the barbaric ways of this drunken society? Why submit yourself to the confines of indifference? Do not submit to this infectious disease

You soooo are. You're rejected by your peers so you project your feelings about yourself onto them.

Now you're projecting your anger onto me. It's textbook, it really is.

Your right to be honest on most areas. Oh and about why people aspire to be like others..........Its because most people are afraid of being different and being alone.

Here's why I think she was bullied in the past, or at the very least constantly rejected by her peers: Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
She is practially claiming that her self-esteem is being lowered by these people, which means she's either being picked on, or she's weak-minded. Quote:
Taking everything she's said as a whole, I can only conclude that she's been constantly shunned and mocked by her peers for being different, this has led to a distinct bitterness for the people who share the superficial characteristics of those who shunned her. She rationalises the peer rejection by trying to convince herself that she's better than those who rejected her, but if she was truly better than them she wouldn't feel bitter towards these people, nor would she be repeating what they did to her. I think what she really wants is a clique of people just like her with the same tastes and interests, so one day she can shun those who shunned her. Afterall, she is the 'black sheep no-one wanted' Quote:
BlackWingdAngel: I don't mean to be insulting, but you're not a beautiful and unique snowflake, when it comes down to it you really are like everyone else. If you think following fads and relating to certain types of music is an important part of someone's personality (to the degree that you anonymously insult them) does that make you any different for those who shun people for the very same reasons? No, it doesn't. At any one time someone somewhere is writing something extremely similar to what you wrote, it's not special and it's not insightful, a quick search on livejournal or myspace would prove that. When you leave high school it'll all be different, most people grow up and move on from childish clique behaviour. If you were truly better than them, you'd start now.

I don't agree with 80% of that.

From that I would say you've been bullied in some form. I was bullied from the age of 10-16 and at 14 I started thinking like you but without the anger and viciousness. Why do people bully? Because they want to make themselves feel better. Because they want to drag others down. Because it's what they've known all their life. Because it makes them popular, people are scared of them so go along with them etc. etc. There's no anger in what I've just said but I am saying it from experience. |

Some people bully people simply because it's a form of entertainment for them. Kinda like ripping someone's argument to shreds on a forum is a form of entertainment for other people. Think about it.
