Actually it has a lot to do with the capabilities of these countries and people's preferences. I don't think Chinese or North Koreans as past experiences like showed the destructive tendency of US, Americans would kill Koreans or Chinese just for the heck of it. Secondly unlike Iraq US can't go to a war with China, it will be a suicide mission.

Actually casualties and sufferers of nuclear war by genetic mutations are more than even your estimated casualty. Negotiations were underway for a conditional surrender. Just the US government had other ideas, mainly to impress Stalin's USSR with its power.

Actually the Arabs didn't like Saddam so if he was the only target the war would have had support like the first Gulf War. But now the continued aggression against Iraq did ruffle their feathers and at least the Iraqis are not going to forgive easily. I think the Americans should have learned something from their Pan American Airlines bombing.

military presence in over 40 countries. That entire world police thing. The arrogance of Americans. The double standards ( we have loads of nukes but no one else can have them). Americans always trying to make themselves look like heroes.
