That's shockingly graphic but I think it needs to be that way to serve its purpose.

Texting and driving is as stupid as drinking and driving. I've attempted it, I admit, and I always ended up accidentally veering into the other lane or nearly hitting the sidewalk. It just doesn't work! Unless your just saying "be there in a sec" and know exactly where all the letters are and can automatically fix them without looking at your phone, then its dangerous as all hell.

this is a perfect example of 3 things.
  • Women have no place behind the wheel of any motorized vehicle (car, truck, lawn tractor)
  • Small Cars are death traps. if they were in a Explorer/navigator/F350 this situation could have been this. "oi govna, did ya just roll over a can?" "bloody 'el it was just a prius"
  • Cell phones are a way for the CIA and or NSA to control your mind and make you crash into an oncoming car. ("tango1 this is baker3 the package has been terminated, over")

all seriousness tho texting while driving is just as bad as drunk driving and should be banned......

as should female drivers.

Pretty shocking video..Incredibly visual. It will work though, to what degree who knows, but some people will definitely be shocked into prevention. A bit like the seatbelt ads, and that horrible ad where the little kid gets run over and smashed into a tree - with her bones broken....Damn that was a nasty ad.

Uhhh the second car that hit her was on the wrong side of the road.
I txt and drive sometimes, I normally wait untill I get home or im stopped at the traffic lights. Here in NZ you cant txt or talk on the phone in the car unless its a handsfree set

That ad has traumatised me! I either mute it, switch channels or leave the room; I just can't see it or hear it... and even reading it sends shivers down my spine.

I think with any advert like this (drink driving, drug driving, talking on mobile phone whilst driving, wearing / not wearing seatbelts, smoking etc.) it is most likely to have an affect on someone who wouldn't dream of doing that action or someone who has already been affected by it (in an accident themselves or know someone who's been in an accident) - however strange that sounds.

If it stops even a few people being so damn stupid though...
